Season One, near the end Complete Character Description: Tall and slender, yet muscular, Mamoru towers over most people in pretty much any place, but especially those in his adopted home of Tokyo. He stands slightly over 6'4 and weighs about 240 lbs. His body is toned, fit, and he takes excellent care of it. He can often be found in excerise clothing, keeping himself in good shape in his prefered way, running. He also enjoys swimming, and is quite athletic in general. When he is not in his workout clothes, he can often be found in the typical uniform of a college student, jeans and a t-shirt. However, he usually goes slightly more formal than most students, and puts a blazer over his shirt. He's serious about his schooling, and really about everything, so he prefers a more polished, pulled together look. Simply wearing a a t-shirt strikes him as too sloppy. He has brown hair, that he usually keeps fairly short, and bright blue eyes. His eyes, along with his extraordinary height, make him stand out from the crowd in Japan. This has made him slightly introverted, because he really doesn't like having excessive attention on him. Personality: Although he could not be called cold or uncaring, Momaru has had a difficult life. Having lost everyone who's ever really been important to him, he doesn't allow himself to really deeply feel for anyone else. He takes care of himself, and thinks everyone else should be the same. He has little sympathy for people who whine about their lives, although if there is a serious problem, he will be the first around to help. Only if it is serious, though, and anyone who tries to gain sympathy from him for anything less than serious had better be prepared to brave some of his scathing wit and sarcasm. He is fairly serious, with brief lapses into humor that tend to suprise people when they happen. He's very devoted to anything he applies himself to, from video games to school to relationships. He tends towards stoicism, but is steady and dependable as well. Background: In the very beginning, Mamoru was a prince, ironically from the future of his timeline. He was Prince Endymion of the Earth Kingdom, and he fell in love with Princess Serenity of the Moon Kingdom. For a long while, all was well. His parents and hers both approved of the match between them, and it was understood that they would marry and unite the two kingdoms. All that changed when his parents were killed by the invading Dark Kingdom, led by Queen Beryl, and the Earth was taken over and corrupted. The Moon Kingdom had no choice but to go to war against the Earth, and Endymion allied himself with the Moon and fought his home in order to save it. Unfortunately, the war did not go very well. Beryl had many minions, and though Princess Serenity, Prince Endymion, and their friends the Princesses Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Jupiter fought bravely, it was ultimately a losing fight. Queen Serenity was forced to use the power of the Silver Crystal, an arifact that has enough power to destroy worlds, against the invading Earth/Dark Kingdom army. It was a dangerous decision, but there was no other choice. Knowing that her actions would likely destroy the entire Moon Kingdom, she put her daughter, and all of her friends, including Prince Endymion, into a deep sleep. Then, she sent them centuries back in time, to be reborn as normal people on the Earth of the past, before the Dark Kingdom invaded. She wanted them to have a chance at a normal life, one that they hadn't had in their own world. Endymion was born to a single mother in California, his father unknown. She named him Darien, which he still answers to when he is called such, and then promptly put him up for adoption, having no interest in the baby. A Japanese-American couple, Naoko and Kenji Chiba, adopted him, as they were childless and had always wanted a baby. His new father got a new, better-paying job, and the newly-named Mamoru was packed up and moved to Tokyo, Japan before he was a year old. On his sixth birthday, his adoptive parents were killed, and he was injured. His amnesia caused him to forget his past life, and slowly, he began having dreams about his former lover, Princess Serenity. He didn't understand these dreams, but one thing was consistant about all of them. She always asked him to get her the Silver Crystal, and this became somewhat of an obsession with him. Maybe, if he got this strange crystal, he would be able to remember his past more clearly. It was the only chance he saw. The only problem was, he didn't know exactly what this Silver Crystal was. He was forced to ignore it, as much as possible, as he attended grade school, then high school, and finally, college. He made few friends, but amongst them were the easy-going Motoki and his brilliant girlfriend, Reika. The year he turned 25 years old, he met Usagi, an irritating junior high student that was everything that bothered him most. Frivilous, ditzy, a crybaby, she bothered him on so many levels. He also met, and began a casual relationship, with Rei, a priestess and one of Usagi's friends. It was around the time he met them that he started having a very disturbing experience; on top of the dreams he was still having, he also began to be forced into a strange transformation from Mamoru to Tuxedo Mask. While in this form, he was compelled to protect Sailor Moon, a mysterious fighter for love and justice that he'd never met before. It was while he was protecting her that he overheard her speaking of the Silver Crystal to her friends, the Sailor Senshi. It became a three-way race. The Sailor Senshi, Tuxedo Mask, and the minions of the Dark Kingdom all vied for the shards of the Silver Crystal, which had been fractured into seven pieces when Queen Serenity used it against the Dark Kingdom and sent them into exile. These Rainbow Crystals were trapped in humans, and had to be removed. The Dark Kingdom proved to be better at this task, and in the end, Mamoru had two of the crystals, while the Dark Kingdom had the other five. A fight was arranged, winner take all. It was, of course, a trap, and he knew it as he made his way to the appointed meeting spot. He had no choice, though. He didn't notice that he was followed until it was too late. Usagi, who wanted to know why he looked so serious, was trapped with him in an elevator. The trap was sprung, and the cables of the elevator were cut. Maroru, though he didn't like Usagi much, didn't wish her dead. He turned to apologize, and was cut off before he could even speak by a very unexpected "Moon Prism Power - Make Up!" from the young girl. Before his disbelieving eyes, the brat turned into Sailor Moon right in front of him, and saved both of their lives. There was no time to be shocked, though. They reached the floor where the minions of the Dark Kingdom were waiting. He had no choice but to reveal to Usagi who he really was, and transformed into Tuxedo Mask. For the first time, Usagi and Mamoru fought by each others side in the full knowledge of just who the other person was. In this fight, Mamoru was hurt, badly enough that he was going to die. Sailor Moon ran to his side, and took his head into her lap. As she sobbed over him, the rainbow crystals all converged and became the Silver Crystal. This powerful item flew to the grieving Sailor Moon, and before everyone's eyes, it attached to her Cresent Moon wand. As Mamoru opened his eyes, maybe for the last time, he looked at the strange girl transforming once more, from Sailor Moon to Princess Serenity. This, then, was the Princess from his dreams. Seeing her brought everything back, and he remembered about being the Prince of Earth, Endymion. Just as this new knowledge came to him, the Dark Kingdom acted. Queen Beryl had specific orders. They were not to hurt him, only bring him back to her so he could be corrupted and used against his former lover, Serenity, and her friends. Something else, however, had another idea. A black bubble came up to take him to the Dark Kingdom, and he did, in fact, disappear from the skyscraper where the fight had been taking place. However, instead of appearing in the lair of Queen Beryl, he instead was pulled through time and space, to the strange planet of Mirage. Weaknesses: Overly serious, introverted, a litle rude sometimes. Strengths: Loyal, dependable, intellegent, strong and athletic. Likes: Fighting, exercise, good friends, roses, Japanese dumplings, good jokes. Dislikes: Ditziness, lack of intellegence, cars, most people. Talents and Hobbies: Besides his excellent condition, he is also very intelligent and reads a lot. He gets excellent grades in school, and is active on the track team as well as the basketball team, which he naturally excels at because of his height. He is very good with a sword, can use a rose as a weapon, and has taken numerous martial arts which would make him a hard opponant to beat. Family and Friends: His only real friends are Motoki, the man who runs the arcade and goes to the same college as him, and Motoki's girlfriend, Reika. He has many aquantainces, including all of the sailor senshi, but was never particularly close to any of them with the one exception of Rei, whom he dated for a short time.
